RF Switch HELP!

hey

i was wondering if anyone could help me out i am simply wanting to know how to use a RF transmitter and a reciever to work as/replace·the on/off switch in a electrical device i have been searching the net and there is nothing put forward in those simple terms i cant imagine it been to complicated as the RF modules iv seen are made to do several functions i would appreciate it if someone shed a little light on this for me and steered me in the right direction thanks
