I need help...

My computer no longer detects my BS2. I'm hoping i didn't damage something.ˇI had a simpleˇprogram - basically wanted to set up a switch. Set P15 as input. When switch is off VDD goes to ground. when switch is closed, VDD goes to P15.

Can someone help?

Thanksˇ

vchan -

What is the exact message you are getting?

What kind of computer are you using?

Are you using a serial port or a USB port to connect withthe Stamp?

message: "No Basic Stamps found"

WinXP

serial port

it was working fine right before this... the program ran fine as well...

i'm worried i might have damaged the board as i did not have a load resistance inbetween VDD and P15... is that needed?

A jumper between pins 6 & 7 on the DB9 connector forces automatic port detection, in case you have the wrong port # set to talk to the Stamp. Or just try all available comm ports on your drop-down list.

i know what happened... i must have shorted VDD. VDD to VSS reads 0.2V and RES to VSS reads the same...

Think i'll need to send it in for repair. Support said it would cost $28. Considering that plus the cost of shipping both ways, i think it might be cheaper to buy a new module...
