Here in the east, the forums never work well, a lot of times are down between 7 and 8 et. Anyone else notice this?

Same here. Right around 7:20 am EST on several occasions I got time outs. It went away shortly after. I thought it might be the Starbucks WiFi, but other sites worked.

That's 4:20 a.m. local Pacific time. Maybe that's when a daily backup/maintenance procedure occurs.

Phil, that's what I figured so I never complained. I used to check the forums before going to work. If I caught it before 7:20 I had no timeouts.

Backup time, yes. Happens every day 7:20-7:30 AM EST. I always use that time to get my second cup of coffee because I just made it through the first page of posts.
You will probably notice the unavailability of the Parallax site at the same time.
I time my morning around the outage. :)

How about 4:00AM EST. Some of us are up at 5:30-6:00 EST. :)

That's only 1 a.m. here on the west coast. Some of us are just getting our second wind at that hour. :)
Besides, if your day doesn't revolve around Pacific time ... well, what can I say, this is where the tech action is.

Point taken.
Anyway which they push the time up or down is going to affect someone in this world wide forum.
I'll stick to my normal morning coffee refill. :)
