It looks like Parallax got hacked on Christmas.

Anything other than the home page give me a "DotNetNuke" error.

I hope it's not too much trouble to fix.

Edit: I changed the title of the thread from "Parallax Website Hacked" to the current title. (Thanks Gordon for the info.)

EDIT: I think this happened once before...

Go to the home page (I used the Parallax.com link at the top of this page). Click on "Propeller" or just about any thing else. It should take you to the error page.

I am getting it to, so verified here.

This error is rarely from a hack. It's usually because the SQL server (service) is not running, for some reason, or the database has somehow been corrupted. Though it may sound like a hacker's moniker, "DotNetNuke" is open source software, and it's used to drive the Parallax store CMS.

Really?!?

DotNetNuke sounds like a great hacker group name. If it just an error, I don't feel so bad. Hopefully it's easier to fix a database error than it is to repair a hacked website.

Yep. Poor name, if you ask me, but most of the time the public never knows what CMS a Web site is using to display its pages.

It could be easy or hard -- depends on the cause. Sometimes all it takes is restarting the SQL server -- a one minute job. Other times some database table has somehow become corrupted. I'm not a DNN guy myself, but there are usually tools to fix certain types of DB corruptions. Or it may require they restore a backup.

this really sucks to try and start developing in BS2 today... does anyone know where I can get the editor other than the parallax site that appears to be hacked/crashed?

I googled basic stamp editor, then clicked on the google "cashed" on right, then got this parallax page from google memory. Maybe this will work?

I'm seriously not impressed with Parallax. Santa brought some basic stamp robots today. There's no support at all for Mac Lion (your affiliate sites say Mac Compatible) so that's a major disappointment. Then I pull out an old PC to use, and I can't even download software or drivers. The kids have already given up and gone to bed.

If not for some of the folks on this forum, I'm ready to send the whole thing back tomorrow.
