View Full Version : Pringles DIY
First Radio Shack went DIY, Heathkit's back, now Pringles is jumping on the DIY open source movement: http://www.pringles.com/en-US/Assets/pdf/Summer-Speakers.pdf
Buy Pringles, mail in your receipt, and get a speaker to snap onto one of your empty Pringles cans for a real hi-fi experience.
What's next from the grocery store? A Basic SPAMp?

Hi-fi experience? I'm surprised they're not capitalizing on the wi-fi experience instead:

Wonder how itll sound. I love pringles, so not a heavy burden to find out! ;)
Speaker, yagi, Hmmm. Maybe there's more to a Pringles's can than meets the eye. Lightweight, rigid, foil-lined. Could even be used structurally. Maybe part of a multiservo robot arm OBC's one-servo robot... is there a contest in the offing? Matt G? Get a licensing deal with P&G!
Now that's cool gonna have to put in for that.

Ah Crap! First Electronic Communication and E-mail. Now the masses are getting into DIY...
Soon I won't even be considered "geeky" anymore. Time to find a new level.. :)

Obviously, you need one of these to set yourself apart from the DIY hoi polloi and geek pretenders:
And one of these cannot hurt a bit:
But, hey! You were doing it before it was fashionable. That counts more than anything!

That Pringles speaker actually looks pretty cool. It appears to be a sealed, amplified unit powered by 3 AAA (included!) batteries, has a cable with 3.5mm plug, and might be a pretty useful item to have around. Just go to YouTube and search for "pringles speaker unboxing". Next trip to the grocery I'm buying 4 Super Stack cans. Offer ends October 31, so hurry if you want one.
