Tacit is a hack product made from two Parallax Ping))) sensors, an Arduino, and a couple of microservos, kind of a much better than a cane handheld sonar for the blind:

The Tacit is way overpriced due to the use of the Arduino and the labor involved assembling the PINGs and whatever microcontroller one might use. I think Parallax could make a single board version of the electronics for this thing cheaply. Like about half. And this would be a very good thing.

Because, of course, we know Parallax has extra people lolling around with nothing to do I KID I KID but really, suggesting that people buy an Arduino if they want to have one of these things, that just seems wrong.
