I just got the RFID module at radio shack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
but i need help on two things

1 how to designate a number for the cards

2 how for it to transmit usb data to log me into my computer

brian i cn tell you a lot about frid readers the first one is easy give me your email and i can send you the code for your first problem if it bs2 your second problem is tough one you would be lucky to find software for that for under $200 dollars

This thread has some free software for interfacing the USB RFID to your PC, I'm not sure about the logging in part but its a start.

Chris' thread was written just before the USB RFID can out. He is addressing the Serial version, meant to be interfaced to a PC Serial Port.

The Radio Shack sale item is the Serial Version and MIGHT be able to be interfaced to the PC USB Port with the Parallax USB2SER Converter:

Thanks for correcting me Hover1. I was thinking it was for USB and not serial, guess next time I'll reread the old threads.

I did find this thread that is for reading the USB RFID on a PC. You'll still need to work on the logging in part, but its a start.
