Good morning,

I have the Board of Education and an old BS1. Can the BoE program the BS1 and if so what is the proper way to put the BS1 on the board? Any help would be appreciated.

I'm pretty sure you can't use a BS1 with a BOE. The BS1 was originally programmed with a parallel port, and now that there aren't any more parallel ports, they've made a special USB programming adapter for it.

The BS1 would fit into the breadboard on the Board of Education, but you'll still need the BS1 Serial Adapter for programming (www.parallax.com/Store/Microcontrollers/BASICStampModules/tabid/134/txtSearch/bs1/List/0/SortField/4/ProductID/44/Default.aspx (http://www.parallax.com/Store/Microcontrollers/BASICStampModules/tabid/134/txtSearch/bs1/List/0/SortField/4/ProductID/44/Default.aspx)). The Serial Adapter's circuit is given in the documentation given via a link on the product page and you could build one yourself using a couple of transistors and resistors.
