Hello I am new to developing with a BS2 on a BOE protoboard.
I would like to know how to control a device that requires a higher voltage or amperage, like 12 V, with the BS2.

Look at the Nuts and Volts Column #6. Go to the main Parallax webpage and click on the Resources tab. The page you get has a link to the Nuts and Volts Columns index. Column #6 covers the topic of controlling high voltage and high current devices with a Stamp.
