Can anyone point me in the direction of a completed and published project for the above subject including code and diagrams. I have viewed DIY drones.com and the Google Earth tracking shown by Parallax.

Pretty much the best you will find that has both code and schematics released is the Ardupilot (from diydrones). There is also the "OughtTopilot", but it isn't as advanced. www.parallax.com/tabid/704/Default.aspx (http://www.parallax.com/tabid/704/Default.aspx)

The guy who made the OughtTo Pilot also made a newer version:

But unfortunately it is propeller based.

They are not cheap either...but for an autopilot, I don't think your going to get real cheap anyway.
