It's seem many people here are asking for help to convert Pbasic to Spin including me. I've been using BS2 for almost 3 years and very comfortable with it. I also have a prop demo board when Parallax start selling it. I know there's a discussion about doing Basic to Spin converter.
As most of the people here are starting with Basic Stamp and Pbasic because of the support given by Parallax by producing a lot of material including "WAM" I don't see why Parallax can't do that with Propeller.

As a Stamp user I am eager to use prop. I don't think Parallax have done enough material for the prop. I am not blaming Parallax for this. I know it will involve a lot of time and money. To learn Spin maybe need sometime and resource. I can afford to put the time. How about resource? There are a lot of object out there without enough details and at the end we are stuck somewhere with a lot of time wasted.

Have you noticed all the documentation that comes with the Propeller Tool software? Sure it's self help, but if you're already programming the Basic Stamp, the examples will certainly make sense to you.

Yes. I have downloaded it. That's for beginning. Theres a lot more not covered.
We all can't learn new language without understanding it. Of course we need explanation. That's what I am looking for.Maybe others too. Please bare in mind some of us are not programmers. That's why we go for Basic Stamp. As Parallax are offering the Prop to the community we are expect the same as what they did to BS.

There is a lot of help in the forums. You've come to the right place.
To start with, check out the BS2 functions object http://obex.parallax.com/objects/30/
Also, if you have the book, the programming examples are a good way to get started. The PEKit also has many programming examples at http://forums.parallax.com/forums/default.aspx?f=25&m=156644.
If it is basic you like, you might want to try Femto Basic http://obex.parallax.com/objects/28/ or http://forums.parallax.com/forums/default.aspx?f=25&m=231506.

I think there is quite a bit on the propeller, just not in polished printed form like for the stamp. I think it would be misleading to introduce people to microcontrollers using the propeller as an example. It is quite unique, and not very similar to many other microcontrollers. I know what you mean though.
I restarted(i used to play with HC11 20 years ago) with the WAM kit from radioshack. I think my time could have been better used going directly to the propeller.

I hope that helps

I learned the HC11 only 5 years ago. I learned a lot about assembly programing from it and tricks to deal with limited speed and resources.

My recomendation is start learning programing theory. Once you start grasping the theory behind programing the language you do it in makes little difference. At last count I have now programmed in over 16 languages to some extent or another.

I am moving on the first and have already moved half my stuff(including my books) so I can't give you a list of good books but I am sure there are others on here that could.

propmod_us and propmod_1x1 are in stock. Only $30 (http://propmodule.com/?x=products). PCB available for $5

Want to make projects and have Gadget Gangster sell them for you? propmod-us_ps_sd (http://www.gadgetgangster.com/160) and propmod-1x1 (http://www.gadgetgangster.com/161) are now available for use in your Gadget Gangster Projects.

Need to upload large images or movies for use in the forum. you can do so at uploader.propmodule.com (http://uploader.propmodule.com) for free.

Andy Lindsay (who wrote "What's a Microcontroller?") has written the Propeller Education Kit Labs which is included with the Propeller Tool v1.2.6. While it was written for a more advanced audience than WAM, it does take you through Spin programming step-by-step. The code for the labs is also included in the Propeller Tool.

I also recommend working through the Propeller Education Kit Labs. I am currently working through the book on my Propeller Prof. Dev. Board and have found it to be very helpful with my limited programing and electronics background. Thanks Andy for putting this book together!

RobertW,

He says "You are welcome!" and I think you just made his day.

Many Thanks to Andy.

Any chances we get "Wham" for propeller?
