Public lighting and the Parallax Infrared Receiver code350-00014 with the Basi

Hi,

The problem I have is that the receiver
turns always ON because there is public lighting near.

Yes, the receiver is always receiving.

Even I disconnect the IR emitters and I am receiving the signal ( ON).

I placed the stamp with the receiver inside my house
and the sensor works fine.

For this reason I saw the public lighting and there is a big lamp
near.

My question is if the Infrared Receiver code 350-00014 has filter
and what can I do?

did you pull down the input with a resistor to eliminate false high signals?
i dont "think" the street light has anything to do with it

well .. is very probably that the IR recceiver is receiving the public light as an false indicator .. what you can do is put a tube in front of it , so the receiver will be in the shadow of your public light , but this will turn your receiver very directional. I never tryied to add filters for it .. but take a look at phograf shop . they usually have IR film for pictures, they may have an idea of how to filter it ..

Usually, people use an "IR-Decoder", which only recieves IR-light which is 'blinking' at a 38,000 Hz rate.

If you're using an "IR-Decoder", it may need a 'pull-up' resistor of 10 Kohms to +5 on the signal line. These devices are "active-low", meaning they let the line 'float' high when they see no signal, and send a low when they DO see a signal.
