I am a newbie and I am trying to hook my stamp up to my serial port on my computer and use the stamp to control an SPI device (got 4 max6954's for free http://forums.parallax.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif ). Does anyone have any links to help me??? Thank you so much.

Have a look at the SHIFTOUT and SHIFTIN statements (for SPI) and the SERIN and SEROUT statements in the Parallax Stamp Basic Manual. There are plenty of examples of the use of SPI devices. Look through the Nuts and Volts Columns and the examples for various Analog to Digital Converters on the Parallax website (like the ADC0831). The "Basic Analog and Digital" tutorial has some of this.
